A Report From – Pastor Shaukat Siddique – Pakistan

Desert Outreach Report:

By the grace of God, today was a truly blessed and powerful day in our desert mission field.

Last night, our team drove all night in a rental van. Unfortunately, the van was not working properly and kept breaking down on the way. What should have been a 9-hour journey turned into a 19-hour struggle on the road. Yet we thank the Lord for protecting us and bringing us all safely to the desert area.

Today we visited four different villages in the desert region. In the first village, the people had never heard of Jesus Christ. I began preaching from the beginning — about creation, the fall of man into sin, and how God, in His great love, sent His only Son into the world for the forgiveness of sins. I took great time to tell them that the blood of the goats they sacrifice cannot earn them salvation from their evil gods, but the blood of Jesus, the Son of God, can wash away their sins. They were so amazed to hear such words. They had never heard of a God who would sacrifice His Son for us. As the Gospel was shared, the Holy Spirit moved powerfully among the people. The entire village listened with deep attention, and by the end of the message, they responded with open hearts, accepting the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior.

Eager to get saved, to read the Bible, to learn, and to serve.

During the meeting, one woman stood up while we were praying and began to stir up trouble. As I began to pray for her, she suddenly fell down and started crying loudly. We realized she was demon-possessed. She was wearing necklaces around her neck and bracelets (demon cords) that were connected to demonic practices. We prayed in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, and God touched her. She was gloriously delivered from the evil spirit. After her deliverance, she publicly confessed her faith and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ. I presented her with a Bible as a gift.

The miracle amazed the entire village. (see before and after photos) When they witnessed the power of Jesus Christ, they believed that Jesus is the true and living God. Praise the Lord for His mighty works!

After that, we continued to other villages. In one village, we cooked food for 100 people and shared the love of Christ with them. They also gladly accepted the Lord Jesus. As the sun set, one man went to get a torch so the people could still see us. They did not want us to stop.

Today, we preached to 250 people, and 90 souls accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. To the glory of God, we also planted one new church in the first village—the same village where the woman was delivered.

We praise God for His protection, His power over darkness, and the harvest of souls in the desert. Please continue to pray for these new believers, for their spiritual growth, and for strength for our team as we continue this mission.

The next day:

By the grace of God, we experienced another fruitful and victorious day in the desert areas among the Marwari tribe. This tribe has been deeply involved in idolatry for generations. They worship elements of nature such as the sun, fire, trees (especially Neem trees), and various created beings. They also believe that a living man, whom they consider divine, is their god.

Preaching of the Gospel

The Lord led me to preach from Romans 1:19–32. I explained how God has revealed Himself through creation, but humanity has rejected the Creator and instead worshiped created things. I emphasized:

  • God is the Creator of the sun, trees, and fire — these are not gods.
  • Humanity dishonors God by turning His glory into images and human forms.
  • “Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools.”
  • Idolatry darkens the heart and separates people from the true God.

Response to the Gospel

The Holy Spirit worked powerfully. Both adults and children listened attentively. Many realized for the first time that they were worshiping created things rather than the Creator. The message deeply touched their hearts. Again, we preached from sunup to sundown as the people are so hungry to learn about our Lord.

After clearly presenting salvation through Jesus Christ — His death, burial, and resurrection — I invited them to repent and put their faith in Him.

  • 70 people accepted the Lord Jesus Christ that day.
  • They prayed publicly for the first time in the name of Jesus.
  • Many openly confessed they had been wrong in their beliefs.
  • There was visible conviction and brokenness among them.

Church Planting

  • 2 more new churches were planted in these desert villages. Our ministry students will oversee them and conduct Bible institute classes for those who want to know more and become evangelists. Which is usually most of them. Our method is that what I teach the students (Timothys) during the week, they teach to the people on the weekends.
  • Local believers are being identified for discipleship and leadership training.
  • We also distributed ten Pure Water Systems provided by Mr. John Hays. People from different villages joined to observe this great blessing. Thank you, Brother Hays. Bringing clean water to villages that have never seen it cannot be held in secret. Others come to see and drink, and while there, we give them the water of Life. This is a great tool for church planting. www.purewaterforallfoundation.org

Challenges

  • Strong tribal traditions and pressure from community leaders.
  • Deep-rooted idol worship practices.
  • Harsh desert travel conditions.
  • Limited transportation resources. We thank God that our wrecked van is being repaired and for the large amount of money being spent on it. But we cannot stop our work while waiting for the job to be completed, so we are renting a van at a high cost.

Despite these challenges, the Lord continues to open doors among the unreached tribes of Pakistan, as well as among the Muslims who hear the marvelous works of God preached and want to join themselves to Him.

Prayer Requests

  1. Pray for the protection and spiritual growth of these new believers.
  2. Pray that they remain firm despite social and tribal pressure.
  3. Pray for resources to disciple and train local leaders.
  4. Pray for continued boldness as we confront idolatry with the truth of the Gospel.
  5. Pray for transportation support for desert outreach.

We give all glory to God for this harvest of souls. The fields are truly white unto harvest in the desert regions of Pakistan. Thank you for your continued prayers and support in advancing the Gospel. Hallelujah for souls saved and churches planted! — Shaukat
