Effective date: September 24, 2026
This privacy policy explains how Final Frontiers Foundation, Inc. (“Final Frontiers”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses and protects information through the missions.world website (https://www.missions.world) and the Missions World app for iPhone (together, the “Services”). We are a nonprofit ministry. We do not sell your information and we do not show advertising. The app itself contains no analytics or advertising trackers. Videos in the app are played by YouTube, which has its own privacy practices (see “Videos in the app” below), and the website uses the analytics tools described below.
Who we are
The Services are owned and operated by Final Frontiers Foundation, Inc. (https://www.finalfrontiers.world). You can reach us at support@finalfrontiers.world, by phone at +1-800-522-4324, or by mail at PO Box 358, Grovetown, GA 30813, USA.
Reading articles
You do not need an account to read missions.world or to use the Missions World app, and the app does not offer one. When the app loads articles and images, our web server receives standard connection information, such as your IP address and device type, as any website does. We use it only to deliver content and keep the Services secure.
Information kept only on your device. Articles you save for offline reading, cached articles and images, your reading preferences (text size and appearance) and similar settings are stored only on your iPhone. They are never sent to us. You can clear the cache under Settings in the app, and deleting the app removes all of it.
Notifications and email updates
We use a service called OneSignal to send optional notifications when new articles are published, both in the app and on the website, and to send the email updates you can sign up for on our Sign Up page.
- App notifications are optional. The app asks before turning them on. If you allow them, OneSignal receives a device push token and a subscription identifier so it can deliver notifications to your device, along with basic information such as device model, operating system version, language and time zone. It also reports whether a notification was delivered and opened, which we see only as totals.
- We do not connect this information to your name, email or any other identity, and we do not use it for advertising.
- Notifications are not required to use the website or the app. You can turn them off at any time under Settings in the app, in your iPhone’s Settings, or in your browser. Email updates can be stopped with the unsubscribe link in any email.
Videos in the app
The Videos tab in the app shows recent videos from the Final Frontiers YouTube channel. Videos are provided by YouTube, a service operated by Google.
- Loading the video list: to show the list and its thumbnail pictures, your device requests them directly from YouTube. Like any website, YouTube receives standard connection information, such as your IP address and device type.
- Playing a video: videos play in YouTube’s own embedded player, and only when you tap play. While you watch, YouTube may use cookies or similar technologies, collect information about your device and how you use the player, and show advertisements, under Google’s privacy policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy). If you are signed in to YouTube elsewhere on your device, YouTube may be able to connect your viewing to your account.
- What we receive: nothing. We do not receive information about which videos you watch, and the app does not share your name, email or prayer requests with YouTube.
- Open in YouTube leaves the app and opens the YouTube app or website, where YouTube’s own terms and privacy policy apply.
- Watching videos is optional. The rest of the app works without ever opening the Videos tab.
Prayer requests
The Prayer tab in the app (the Prayer Request screen) lets you send a prayer request to the Final Frontiers prayer team. Sending one is entirely voluntary, and no account is needed.
- What we collect: the text of your request, and your name and email address if you choose to give them. Because it is a prayer request, what you write may reveal religious beliefs, health matters or other personal circumstances. Please share only what you are comfortable with our prayer team reading.
- Approximate location: when your request reaches our server, we estimate your country and state or region from your IP address using a location database stored on our own server. This helps staff review requests and spot spam. We do not store your IP address, city, postal code or precise location with your request, and we never ask your device for its location.
- How it is used: only so our staff and prayer team can pray for you and, if you gave us your email address, contact you. If your email matches someone already in our ministry records, staff may connect the request to that record. We do not publish your request, and sending it does not give permission to publish it.
- Consent: you must agree before a request is sent. You can withdraw that consent and ask us to delete your request at any time (see “Your choices and rights” below).
- Where it is stored: requests are sent securely (HTTPS) from our website to our ministry database, which is hosted by Microsoft (Dynamics 365). They are not kept on the website. Until a request is confirmed as received, the app keeps a copy on your device so it can retry; that copy is deleted once receipt is confirmed, or when you choose to discard it.
- Spam protection: to prevent abuse, our server keeps a scrambled (hashed) form of the sender’s IP address with a count of attempts; it cannot be read back as an IP address and is deleted automatically within about two hours. To spot the same message being sent repeatedly, the server also keeps a scrambled fingerprint of the request text for 24 hours. The fingerprint cannot be turned back into your words and is stored separately from your request.
Comments on the website
When you leave a comment on the website, we collect what you enter in the comment form, along with your IP address and browser user agent string, to help detect spam. Comments may be checked by an automated spam detection service. An anonymized string created from your email address (a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service to see whether you use it (Gravatar’s privacy policy: https://automattic.com/privacy/). Once your comment is approved, your profile picture is visible to the public next to it.
If you upload images to the website, avoid images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the website can download images and extract any location data they contain.
Cookies
The Missions World app itself does not use cookies for tracking. YouTube’s video player may set its own cookies while you watch a video in the app (see “Videos in the app” above). On the website:
- Analytics cookies are set by the tools described under “Website analytics” below.
- If you leave a comment, you can choose to save your name, email address and website in cookies so you don’t have to enter them again. These last for one year.
- Visiting our login page sets a temporary cookie to check that your browser accepts cookies. It contains no personal data and is deleted when you close your browser.
- Logging in sets cookies that save your login and screen display choices. Login cookies last two days (two weeks if you choose “Remember Me”), and screen options cookies last one year. Logging out removes the login cookies.
Website analytics
The website (not the app) uses analytics tools to understand how visitors use it, such as which articles are read and how visitors arrive. These tools use cookies and similar technologies and collect information such as pages viewed, referring site, device and browser type, approximate location derived from your IP address, and time on page:
- Google Analytics, provided by Google. You can learn how Google uses this data at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and opt out with the Google Analytics browser add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Insights website tracking, which helps our ministry understand engagement with our websites and communications.
- TrustPulse, which may show on-site notifications about recent activity, such as sign-ups.
We use this information to improve the website and our ministry communications, not for advertising. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the website will still work.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles may include content embedded from other websites, such as YouTube videos. Embedded content behaves exactly as if you had visited that website: the other site may collect data about you, use cookies, add its own tracking, and monitor how you interact with the content, including if you have an account there and are logged in. Links in articles may open other websites, which have their own privacy policies. Donations are made on the Final Frontiers website, outside the app, and are covered by the Final Frontiers Foundation privacy policy (https://www.finalfrontiers.world/privacy-policy.html).
Who we share information with
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We share information only with service providers that help us run the Services, and only as much as each one needs:
- OneSignal: delivering notifications and email updates.
- Microsoft (Dynamics 365): storing prayer requests in our ministry database.
- Google and Microsoft: website analytics, as described above (website only, not the app).
- YouTube (Google): showing and playing videos in the app’s Videos tab, as described above. YouTube receives connection and usage information directly from your device; we do not send it any of your personal information.
- Our web hosting provider: hosting the website and the service the app uses to load content.
- Spam detection and Gravatar services: checking website comments, as described above.
These providers may use the information only to provide their services to us, and must protect it at least as well as this policy describes. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our users, staff or ministry partners.
How long we keep information
- Prayer requests are kept in our ministry database for as long as they are needed for prayer and pastoral follow-up, under our document retention policy, or until you ask us to delete them.
- Notification subscriptions are kept until you turn notifications off or delete the app. After that, the device is marked unsubscribed and no longer receives notifications.
- Spam-protection data for prayer requests is deleted automatically: attempt counters within about two hours, and text fingerprints after 24 hours.
- Website comments and their metadata are kept indefinitely, so we can recognize and approve follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them for moderation.
- Registered website users (if any): we store the personal information they provide in their user profile. Users can see, edit or delete it at any time (except their username), and website administrators can also see and edit it.
- Information on your device stays there until you clear it or delete the app.
Your choices and rights
- Delete a prayer request or withdraw consent: email support@finalfrontiers.world with the email address you used (or the date and approximate wording if you sent it without one), and we will delete it. If we must keep some information for legal, administrative or security reasons, we will tell you.
- Turn off notifications: under Settings in the app, in your iPhone’s Settings, or in your browser. Unsubscribe from email updates using the link in any email.
- Remove data from your device: use Clear Cache or remove saved articles in the app, or delete the app.
- Access, correct or erase your information: if you have a website account, have left comments or have sent a prayer request, you can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, or ask us to correct or erase it. This does not include data we are required to keep for administrative, legal or security purposes. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under local law, and we will honor them.
Children
The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Children under 13 should not send prayer requests or sign up for email updates. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
Information sent between the app, the website and our service providers is encrypted in transit using HTTPS. Access to prayer requests is limited to authorized staff. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect the information entrusted to us.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Services change. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page. If a change significantly affects how we use information you have already given us, we will ask for your consent where the law requires it.
